Autistic Students

ABC of NC provides educational services for students meeting the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder or students demonstrating characteristics of autism. Documentation from a qualified professional is required.Children are admitted upon diagnosis or through referrals from gatekeeper agencies.  New students may be as young as 18 months old and ABC of NC is licensed to serve students through age 22. ABC of NC reserves the right to facilitate the transition to a more appropriate program, if staff deem that ABC of NC cannot provide the appropriate services.‍

Counseling Services

In order to access insurance or Medicaid coverage for services, the client must have a medical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Good Faith Estimate

A new federal law called the No Surprises Act (NSA) has gone into effect. The NSA was adopted in December 2020 to protect clients from unexpected medical bills by requiring health care providers to inform clients of the expected cost of a service before the service is rendered. This law went into effect on January 1, 2022. Regulations require health care providers to give good faith estimates of the costs of services to all uninsured and self-pay clients when the services are scheduled or the client request an estimate and to notify clients of their right to receive such an estimate. Self-pay clients include those who have health insurance but do not intend to use it to pay for services. ABC of NC provides each person with a Good Faith Estimate during the following occurrences: before services are started, if any changes to insurance, and annual as an update. ABC of NC provides an estimate of benefits and authorizations, which does not guarantee payment, services, or eligibility verification. Your insurance company may pay more or less than the estimated amount.
